Unassigned (Unallocated number)/ Invalid Call Reference Value (CRV) (1TR6: AT&T ISDN Protocol)

Cause

The call cannot be completed because the number requested in the SETUP message is not assigned or allocated by the ISDN network.

This cause value has end-to-end significance. Communication Manager returns this cause value to the user who originated the call.

Proposed Solution

Procedure

  1. Check if any prefix or service value is missing from the cause value numbers.
  2. Check Cause Value Information Element (LOC). See Location codes.
  3. Check Communication Manager administration.
    1. Dial-plan/Location: The administration of an incorrect home NPA causes an incorrect code conversion.
    2. IXC: The administration of an incorrect IXC matching pattern or a dial plan without an IXC matching pattern causes incorrect IXC manipulation.
    3. AAR/ARS digit conversion: An incorrect digit string is substituted. The call is routed to the wrong network and over the wrong route pattern. Further conversion is needed, but the dial string is restricted from further conversion.
    4. AAR/ARS digit analysis: Call type is incorrect for the call made with an incorrect number type or incorrect number plan information or both, or the call type prevents code conversion. Call routes to an incorrect route pattern with incorrect digit manipulation and/or code conversion.
    5. Automatic Route Selection (ARS) toll analysis: An incorrect toll or no-toll classification causes incorrect code conversion at the route pattern.
    6. Route pattern: Incorrect entries in the NPA, prefix mark, and toll list/prefix mark fields cause incorrect code conversion. Incorrect number of digits are deleted or incorrect digits are added. IXC or international code digits and user-dialed IXC code fail to parse or IXC routes the call to the wrong interexchange carrier.
    7. Trunk Group: An incorrect service or feature is specified for the call made on a CBC trunk group preference. The dialed number format is changed to an incorrect number format.
