Verify configurations to see if the media gateway is a slave and does not have a T1 or BRI sync source, or is a master source whose T1 or BRI interface is not functioning. If the media gateway is a slave, make sure that the media gateway is configured properly for IP synchronization and is in an appropriate network region to receive clock of IP (CSoIP).

Notes:

  1. Error type 1: The primary synchronization source has lost signal. This causes a Minor off-board alarm after 5 minutes.

  2. Error type 257: The secondary synchronization source has lost signal. This causes a minor off-board alarm after 5 minutes.

  3. Error type 513: The media gateway is configured to have a primary synchronization source, or the media gateway is configured for IP synchronization, but is running off the local clock. This causes a major off-board alarm.

  4. Error type 1793: The clock sources associated with this media gateway are switching excessively in the last 5 minutes and caused the gateway to get locked to its local clock source.
