Wait Answer Supervision Timer

The Wait Answer Supervision Timer (WAST) starts when a call begins ringing at an agent telephone or station. It stops if the call is answered, connected, or redirected. When a redirected call begins ringing, the timer is restarted.

The Redirection on No Answer (RONA) feature prevents an unanswered call from ringing indefinitely. In the case of RONA, the WAST restarts if the call cannot be redirected.

If the WAST times out, the communication server drops the call and CMS records the call as abandoned (from ringing).
