wildcard

Last Updated : Aug 08, 2023 |

A wildcard is a placeholder character, which is often represented with an asterisk (*). However, some programs might use another character, such as x, to represent a wildcard.

Write wildcard as one word. Start this word with a lowercase letter except at the beginning of a sentence.

Examples

You can use wildcard entries after the protocol or domain.

Enter x characters as wildcards to match multiple users.
