Joining words with slashes

Do not use a slash to join two or more words. When you join words with a slash, you imply that the words are related, but you do not say how.

Exception for joined words that refer to the same object

Use a slash with any phrase in which the joined words refer to the same object, as in tip/ring circuit card, A/B switch, Asia/Pacific region, and read/write function.
