Use a vertical list for all but the shortest and the simplest of any series of related items.

Pager dialing sequences can include up to 20 characters. Valid entries include:
  • The digits 0 through 9

  • The asterisk (*) and the pound sign (#)

  • Any of the following letters:
    • A for answer detect

    • C for user authorization code

    • D for disconnect

    • H, L, and V for high, low, and verify tone-recognition codes, respectively

    • P for pause

    • K for a key pulse

    • S for a stop pulse
