Use only two levels in a nested list. The following markers are the DITA markers for the first level and the second, nested level, of a list.
Unordered lists
The marker for the first level of an unordered list is a bullet (•).
The marker for the second, nested level of an unordered list is an en dash (–).
Ordered lists
The marker for the first level of an ordered list is a number, starting with 1, and continuing in numeric order.
The marker for the second, nested level of an ordered list is a lowercase letter, starting with a and continuing in alphabetic order.
