Capitalization in headings

For document titles, use an initial capital letter for almost every word, except for words such as the, and, or, and for.

For all other titles or headings in a document, only capitalize the first letter of the first word and proper nouns. The following table shows examples of chapter and topic titles:

Exception for case-sensitive words

If the first word of a title is a case-sensitive lowercase word, rewrite the title. If you cannot rewrite the title, do not capitalize the first word.
