Commas in lists

Use a comma before the words and or or in a series of three or more items.

Note:

Use a vertical list for all but the shortest and the simplest of any series of related items. For more information, see Lists.


Examples
The complete system consists of a computer, a disk drive, a monitor, and software.
Put a terminating resistor at the end of each bus, line, or cable.

Exception for marketing content and internal communications

Do not use a comma if and or or appears before the last word.
