The words heading and title are used interchangeably. Use the following best practices for titles within a document:
Do not use an article as the first word of a chapter title, topic title, or other heading.
Do not add an empty heading followed by a topic with the same title. For example, do not start a chapter with the heading <Product> overview followed by a topic with the title <Product> overview. Instead, remove the topichead in the chapter map and start the chapter with a concept topic.
Note that capitalization conventions vary for document titles and titles within the document. Titles within the document include chapter titles, topic titles, section titles, and so on.
