Parentheses with special characters

When you refer to any of the special characters on the computer keyboard, include the symbol for the character in parentheses after the name.

Examples

Type a question mark (?) in the appropriate place for each digit that can be different.

The asterisk (*) matches any sequence of digits.

Substitute the correct data for any data that is inside angle brackets (< >).
