Introducing tables in text

Introduce or otherwise mention all tables in the text.

Refer to the table by the title when a title exists. For an untitled table, use the phrase in the following table or the following table shows.

Examples

For tables with a title:

  • For a list of the default values, see Table : 1.

  • Enter an allowable value from Table : 1.

For tables without a title:

  • Use the information in the following table to determine the status of the drive.

  • The following table shows the device IDs and the disk names.
