Appropriate language

Last Updated : Jul 29, 2013 |

Appropriate language ensures that documentation is sensitive to a global audience. The following sections outline ways to maintain appropriate language.

Specifications in this section do not apply to language in software interfaces such as GUIs, screen text, or printouts. Represent language in software interfaces exactly as the term appears in the interface. In the case of egregious deviations from acceptable language, appeal to the software engineers for changes in the interface or submit a change request.
