Application Enablement Services Collector allows Presence Services to report telephony Presence from Communication Manager endpoints. Application Enablement Services Collector collects events from H323 and DCP telephones administered as OPTIM extensions.
The number of Application Enablement Services servers that Application Enablement Services Collector can use is not limited. If you want Application Enablement Services Collector to use an Application Enablement Services server, ensure that the Application Enablement Services server is added to the System Manager Inventory list. If you want to prevent Application Enablement Services Collector from using an Application Enablement Services server, remove the Application Enablement Services server from the System Manager Inventory list. The System Manager Inventory list is used by Application Enablement Services Collector to identify the pool of Application Enablement Services servers that it can acquire a user from.

Application Enablement Services Collector collects events for any user with Application Enablement Services Collection explicitly enabled in the Presence communication profile, or enabled through the Application Enablement Services system policy. The Application Enablement Services system policy is at Elements Presence Configuration Publish Presence with AES Collector – Default. Application Enablement Services Collector sequentially tries the Application Enablement Services servers configured in the System Manager Inventory until it acquires the user from that Application Enablement Services.
