Port management

Prolog information
Service Ports are administered on System Manager. When Avaya Breeze® platform is installed, Avaya Breeze® platform opens platform ports, such as 5061 which is used for SIP signaling. When the Presence Services snap-in is loaded, Presence Services additionally opens ports 5222, 5269, and 5063.
  • Endpoint devices such as one-X® Communicator use port 5222 to establish an XMPP client-to-server connection to Presence Services.
  • Third-party XMPP servers such as Ignite Realtime Openfire use port 5269 to establish an XMPP server-to-server connection to Presence Services.
  • The Federation Relay component uses port 5063 to communicate with the Microsoft RTC Front End server.
Note:
Any changes to the ports will require corresponding changes on endpoints or third-party server. Some endpoints may not support any port besides 5222. Avaya recommends that you do not change the default ports 5222, 5269, and 5063 because some endpoint devices and third-party servers are hard-coded to use these ports. If the port values are changed:
  • Corresponding changes might be needed on endpoints or third-party servers.
  • A Presence Services restart is required.
  • For S2S, DNS SRV records need to be updated.
