Configuring Exchange Collector to use Office 365 with basic authentication type

If extended hostname validation is enabled, ensure that the identity certificate CN/SAN (DNSname) field of Microsoft Exchange server matches the FQDN of the Microsoft Exchange server. If the hostname validation fails, the Exchange collector will not be able to collect calendar events and out-of-office information from the Microsoft Exchange server. This means that there will be no notification of meeting events or out-of-office information to any Presence Services users. For more information, see Extended hostname validation.
  1. On the System Manager web console, navigate to ElementsAvaya Breeze®Configuration.
  2. Click Attributes.
  3. On the Service Clusters tab, in the Cluster field, click the Presence Services cluster.
  4. In the Service field, click the Presence Services service.
  5. On the Attributes Configuration page, navigate to the Exchange Collector group.
  6. In Effective Value, do the following:
    1. In Exchange Collector Enabled, click True to enable the Exchange Collector.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Exchange Collector collects and publishes Presence information on behalf of clients that do not support a native Presence implementation.
    2. In Exchange Authentication Mechanism, select basic.
    3. In Exchange Server URI, type the URI of the Exchange server in Office 365.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      For example:https://outlook.office365.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx.
    4. In Exchange Server Username, type the username that the Exchange collector must use when connecting to the Exchange server.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Type only the user part, not the domain part.
    5. In Exchange Server Password, type the password that the Exchange collector must use when connecting to the Exchange server.
    6. In the Exchange Calendar Information Polling Period field, type the calendar information collection interval in minutes. The default value is 15 minutes. If you want to poll more frequently, you can reduce the value.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Note:
      • If you reduce the value below 15 minutes, it affects the Presence Services system performance and the exchange server response, which results in delayed response.
      • If there are frequent requests from Presence Services to Exchange server, Online exchange or Office 365 with throttling policy enabled displays a message Try after some time. Hence, when the Presence Services is integrated with Online exchange or Office 365, disable the throttling policy.
    7. In Exchange Calendar Request Rate, type the maximum calendar request per minute rate for the collector to send to the server.
    8. In Exchange Out-Of-Office Information Polling Period, type the Out-Of-Office information collection interval in minutes.
    9. In Exchange Out-Of-Office Request Rate, type the Out-Of-Office request per minute rate for the collector to send to the server.
    10. In Exchange Publishing Period, type the collector publish interval in minutes.
  7. To override the default value, select the Override Default check box.
  8. Click Commit.

    Important:
    If you change any of the following attributes, you must restart Presence Services:
    • Exchange Server URI
    • Exchange Server Username
    • Exchange Server Password
    • Exchange Calendar Information Polling Period
    • Exchange Calendar Request Rate
    • Exchange Out-Of-Office Information Polling Period
    • Exchange Out-Of-Office Request Rate
    • Exchange Publishing Period
