Installing a Presence Services snap-in

Prolog information
  1. On System Manager, click ElementsAvaya Breeze®.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Service ManagementServices.
  3. Select the Presence Services snap-in that you loaded earlier.

  4. Click Install.
    STEP RESULT:
    Presence Services displays the list of Avaya Breeze® platform clusters.
  5. Select the Avaya Breeze® platform cluster that you created earlier.

  6. Click Commit.
    STEP RESULT:
    The installation might take several minutes to complete.
  7. To see the status of the snap-in installation, click the Refresh Table icon in the upper-left corner of the All Services list.
  8. To enable the licensed features, do the following:
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    1. Install the Presence Services enhanced snap-in that you loaded earlier.
    2. Repeat Step 1 to Step 6 to install the Presence Services enhanced snap-in service.
      ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
      Note that you must install the Presence Services enhanced snap-in in the same cluster in which you installed the Presence Services snap-in. However, the order of installation is not important. For more information about the licensed features, see the Licensing chapter.
  9. If you are upgrading from any release prior to Presence Services R8.1.3, then you must execute the following command in breeze node hosting the Presence Services snap-in:
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    sh /opt/Avaya/snap_in/ps/psng-cli-tools-<version>-SNAPSHOT/presAlterTable.sh
    For example, if you are upgrading to Presence Services R8.1.3, then execute the following command:
    sh /opt/Avaya/snap_in/ps/psng-cli-tools-8.1.3.0-SNAPSHOT/presAlterTable.sh
    where 8.1.3 refers to release version you are upgrading to.
    Note:
    • In a cluster of more than one node, it is enough to execute Presence Services in any one node.
    • If the Symantec Endpoint Protection is installed on Breeze platform and is currently running, then ensure to stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection on the Breeze platform, otherwise the Presence Services Snap-in installation fails. Once the Presence Services Snap-in is installed successfully, restart the Symantec Endpoint Protection.
    • Rebooting the cluster or Breeze platform directly can also start the Symantec Endpoint Protection on the Breeze platform automatically. Ensure to stop the Symantec Endpoint Protection before installing the Presence Services Snap-in.
