Presence Services Geographic Redundancy solution is based on active-active deployment model. Both the data centers provide services during normal operations. The users are partitioned between the two data centers, typically in accordance with the location. During normal operations, each data center provides services to the local users. On a wide area network (WAN), geo-location can help improve network performance so that users halfway across the planet can access the same services at local-area network (LAN) speeds. When disaster occurs and one of the data center goes down, the users of that data center migrate to the other data center to receive service and continue to be operational.
