Adding pools

A pool is a group of servers to which services can be load balanced. In this configuration, each pool is a single IP address on the internal firewall that corresponds to an Avaya Oceana® cluster/server.
  1. On the Virtual Traffic web admin interface, click ServicesPools.
    STEP RESULT:
    The interface displays the Create a new Pool page.
  2. In the Pool Name field, enter a name for the pool.
  3. In the Pool Type field, select Static.
  4. Under Nodes, enter the unique IP address/port combination on the internal firewall of the destination cluster/server.
  5. Click Create Pool.
    STEP RESULT:
    Virtual Traffic Manager creates the pool and displays the following message:
    This pool is not yet associated with a virtual server, so settings for all protocols are shown below.
  6. Click SSL SettingsSSL Encryption.
  7. In the ssl_encrypt field, select Yes.
  8. Click Update.
  9. On the Pools tab, click Pools.
  10. Repeat Steps 2 to 9 for each Avaya Oceana® cluster.
