If a network outage occurs for a single virtual machine or a single physical server, use the following procedure before reconnecting the virtual machine or physical server to the network.
Connect a monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse to the physical server that is isolated from the network.
Log in to the ESXi console.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
You can press F2 and enter the login credentials.
On the System Customization screen, scroll to Troubleshooting Options and press Enter.
On the Troubleshooting Mode Options screen, scroll to Enable ESXi Shell and press Enter.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
You can skip this step if ESXi Shell is already enabled.
Keep pressing Esc until you return to the main direct console screen.
On the main direct console screen, press Alt+F1 to open a local console window to the physical server.
Run the following command to list all virtual machines that are hosted on the physical server:

vim-cmd vmsvc/getallvms
Identify the ID of the virtual machine that is affected because of the network outage.
Run the following command to restart the affected virtual machine:
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
vim-cmd vmsvc/power.reboot <virtual_machine_ID>
<virtual_machine_ID> is the ID of the affected virtual machine.
