IMAP setting description

The following table describes IMAP settings for incoming and outgoing emails that display when you select IMAP in the Incoming Protocol list.

IMAP Protocol

The IMAP protocol to use, depending if your email provider uses secure IMAP.

Fetch unread emails for last

The number of days before the mailbox-enabled date for which Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud retrieves unread emails from the mailbox.

The default value is 1 day. You can select any value between 1 day and 30 days. Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud supports fetching of unread emails upto a maximum of 30 days from the Mailbox Enabled Date.

Mailbox Enabled Date

The date on which you save the mailbox.

Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud automatically updates the date to the current date on which you configure and save the mailbox.

Server Host

The mail server or IP address where the account exists. For example, imap.myemailserver.com.

Server Port

The port number for the mail server.

  • If you use an encrypted security protocol, the default IMAP port number is 993.

  • If you use an unencrypted security protocol, the default IMAP port number is 143.

TLS Type

The security protocol to use for receiving emails. For example, for IMAP you can select STARTTLS. For IMAPS, you can select TLS.

Note:

For TLS, Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud only supports standard CA certificates, not self-signed certificates.

Authentication Type

The authentication method to use for connecting to the mail server. For example, for both IMAP and IMAPS, you can select LOGIN.

Account Folder

The mailbox folder that Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud pulls incoming emails from to route to agents. For example, you can type Inbox.

Timeout (Secs)

The maximum amount of time in seconds during which the contact center attempts to retrieve an email. The maximum value is 120 seconds.

Delete Email From Server

Enable this option to automatically delete incoming emails from the mail server after they are successfully downloaded by Avaya Experience Platform™ Public Cloud.

By default, this option is disabled.
