Alphanumeric Dialing Table

Use the Alphanumeric Dialing Table screen to associate Alpha-name to digit strings. Users can make a data call by entering the Alpha-name instead of the digit string.

To change the value of the fields on the Alphanumeric Dialing Table screen, use the following command:

change alphanumeric-dial-table

Alpha-name

Use this field to assign a unique name to the digit string. The name must begin with an alphabet and can have up to eight alphanumeric characters.

Mapped String

Use this field to enter a string that you must use to generate the dialing string. You can enter up to 24 characters. You can also use the facility access codes in the string.

Usage

0 to 9

To enter a digit.

A to Z, a to z

To enter an alphabet. The system maps the uppercase alphabets to the lowercase alphabets.

(, ), /, -, ^, space

To enter a special character.

+

To enable the system to wait for a dial tone.

%

To indicate that rest of the digits are for end-to-end signaling.

,

To enable the system to pause for 1.5 seconds.

#

To enter a DTMF digit pound.

*

To enter a DTMF digit asterisk.
