Message Waiting Indication Subscriber Number Prefixes

Last Updated : Oct 29, 2012 |

If the voice mail server is an AUDIX server connected using BX.25, you must fill in the Message Waiting Indication (MWI) Subscriber Number Prefixes to send or cancel a Message Waiting Indication to a served user. The served user is a user on the Private Telecommunication Network (PTN) to whom the MWI is sent on activation by the Message Center or Message Center PBX.

Using the QSIG MWI Supplementary Service, Message Center/Message Center PBX sends MWI Activate or MWI Deactivate message to the served user as a result of storage or retrieval of messages. Also, the served user is allowed to query the Message Center for MWI status.
