Capacity profile Media Processing Unit (MPU) estimate is a value provided by AMS as part of its capacity profile. It is given to Communication Manager when the AMS comes into service. This is an estimate of the MPU capacity of the physical server. Capacity profile MPU value is estimated by AMS based on server type, clock speed, number of physical processor cores, logical processors, RAM, disc space, and NIC speed. Different AMS actions require different amount of MPU. For example, a simple G711, non-encrypted channel requires 1 MPU. More complex audio or video codecs require higher MPUs.
