PKI is a system or framework that provides users of a non-secure public network to securely and privately exchange data through the use of a cryptographic key pair that is provided by a trusted authority, typically a certificate authority. A public key infrastructure includes a certificate authority (CA), a registration authority (RA) and a means of managing certificates.
