An Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS) functions as a backup to the main Communication Manager server, ensuring continuity of service during disruptions or license issues.
Following are the different scenarios for ESS:
-
During the grace period, the ESS license activates and manages the communication devices for the days specified in the field Survivable License Grace Period (in days).
-
If the grace period expires before the main Communication Manager server's licensing issue is rectified, the ESS enters restricted mode and stops managing the communication devices.
-
If the main Communication Manager server's license issue is rectified, either before or after the grace period expires, the main Communication Manager server returns to normal operation mode and resumes managing the communication devices.
