Using the automatically generated call routes for SIP routing

About this task

Based on the primary, secondary, third, or fourth Session Manager specified in Session Manager Communication Profile, the system automatically determines a route pattern.

Before you begin

In the Communication Manager instance associated with System Manager, do the following:

  1. On the Route Pattern page, specify the primary Session Manager.

    Note:

    If Alternate Failover Routing is enabled on Communication Manager, then Route Pattern administration is not required.

  2. Select a SIP endpoint.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Users > User Management > Manage Users.
  2. Click Communication Profile.
  3. In Session Manager Profile > SIP Registration > Primary Session Manager, click a primary Session Manager.
  4. In CM Endpoint Profile, do the following:
    1. In the Set Type field, enter the details of a SIP set type.
    2. Select the Calculate Route Pattern check box.

Result

The system automatically generates route patterns for the specified user and for the Session Manager set as the primary Session Manager.
