Enabling client authentication

Last Updated : Mar 10, 2021 |

About this task

If you enable client authentication, AE Services issues a request for the client certificate and rejects incoming connections if the client certificate is not signed by a trusted CA.

If you enable host authorization, AE Services checks the CN in the client certificate and verifies if it matches one of the administered authorized hosts. If the CN does not match, AE Services rejects the connection.

Procedure

  1. On the AE Services management console, go to Security > Host AA > Service Settings.
  2. To enable trusted certificate authorization, select Authenticate Client Cert with Trusted Certs for the required client types.
  3. To enable host authorization, select Require Trusted Host Entry for the required client types.
  4. Click Apply Changes.
  5. On the Apply Changes to Host AA service settings page, click Apply.
