The internal AE Services server uses a single network interface card (NIC) configuration. In a configuration with single NIC, AE Services uses one network interface for client, switch, and media connectivity.
In a configuration with a single NIC, the AE Services server, Routing Core Server, and the client application computer must reside on a private LAN, a virtual LAN (VLAN), or a WAN. You must configure the IP interface for the AE Services server to be publicly accessible for IP endpoint registration. Always use the eth0 setting for a single NIC.
On the external AE Services server, you can use configuration with one, two, or three NICs. For more information about configuring multiple NICs, see Administering Avaya Aura® Application Enablement Services.
