TSAPI service licensing

The TSAPI service provides third-party call control services. AE Services JTAPI is a client-side interface to the TSAPI service that also provides third-party call control.

For TSAPI and JTAPI, AE Services provides two types of licenses: the TSAPI Basic Users license and the TSAPI Advanced license. The TSAPI Advanced license provides access to a different set of features than the TSAPI Basic User license. The Advanced license does not include the capabilities provided by the TSAPI Basic Users license.

The TSAPI service acquires its licenses from the WebLM server. Accessing the WebLM server for each license request can have impact on application performance. You can reduce the time for initializing the TSAPI application by reserving TSAPI licenses. When you reserve TSAPI licenses, the TSAPI service acquires all of the reserved licenses at the service start time by making a single request to the WebLM server. If more than the reserved number of TSAPI licenses are used, TSAPI acquires extra licenses from the WebLM server, one license per each request.
