Creating an account for the AE Services server on the domain controller

About this task

Create a user account where the AE Services server is managed as an active directory user.

Before you begin

Ensure that you are a member of the administrator group in Windows.

Procedure

  1. On your desktop, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. On Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  4. On the navigation menu, right-click Users and go to New > User.
  5. In the New Object – User dialog box, in First name, type a user name.

    For example, you can type John.

  6. In Last name, type the last user name.

    For example, you can type Smith.

    Full name is filled automatically.

  7. In User Logon name, type the logon user name that is used to log into Windows domain.

    For example, you can type jsmith.

  8. From the User Logon name drop-down box, select the address of the domain controller.
  9. Optional For version Windows 2000 and earlier, in User logon name (pre Windows 2000), type the user logon name.

    For example, you can type jsmith.

  10. Click Next.
  11. In the New Object – User dialog box, in Password, type a password for your AE Services account.

    For example, you can type aespassword.

  12. In Confirm password, retype the password.
  13. Click Next.
  14. Click Finish.
