Considerations for backing up data from a real ACD to load on a pseudo-ACD

Last Updated : Oct 30, 2024 |

Consider the following before backing up real ACD data for a pseudo-ACD:

  • You must create a pseudo-ACD as described in Pseudo-ACD administration.

  • Archive data from an existing ACD before using it for a pseudo-ACD.

  • The data from a full backup might be more than needed. Loading a pseudo-ACD with a full backup can result in disk space problems. To eliminate this problem, back up specific tables when creating the ACD data to load onto a pseudo-ACD.

  • Data storage allocation for the pseudo-ACD must match or be greater than the ACD where the data was archived. Document the data storage allocation values for the ACD where the data was archived. Verify that the pseudo-ACD configuration matches or is greater than the documented values. If these settings are incorrect, the process of loading data onto the pseudo-ACD might fail.

  • Storage intervals for the pseudo-ACD must match the ACD where the data was archived. the values do not match, the process of loading data onto the pseudo-ACD might fail.

  • You should be using a network mount point for the backup. Ensure that the backup device path is configured in Maintenance > Backup/Restore Devices.
