Logging in to CMS from the remote console

Last Updated : Oct 28, 2024 |

About this task

You can log in to the CMS server from a remote console. For example, you can use Terminal Emulator to log in to CMS.

Ensure that users do not use the same login ID because this will use up operating system processes.

Before you begin

Configure the connection settings for the CMS server you are logging in to. For example, select the SSH connection type and then specify the CMS network address and port number.

Procedure

  1. Open the console.
  2. When prompted, enter your login ID.

For example, type cms and then press Enter.

  3. Enter your password when prompted.

A prompt for the terminal type is displayed.

  4. Enter your terminal type when prompted or accept the default option.

If you use a login other than cms, the CMS Main Menu opens automatically. If you are using the cms login, you must run the cms command after entering your password to view the Main Menu.
