Enabling password aging

Last Updated : Nov 25, 2024 |

About this task

When password aging is disabled, passwords do not expire. You can turn on password aging if you want user passwords to expire after a set number of weeks. You can set the number of weeks between 1 and 52. When this period of time elapses, CMS users are forced to change their passwords.

To manage the password aging feature, you must use the CMS ASCII interface This feature is not accessible through CMS Supervisor.

This high-level procedure describes how to enable password aging. For more information about password aging, see Maintaining and Troubleshooting Avaya Call Management System.

Procedure

  1. From the CMS Main Menu, press F3 to access the Commands menu.
  2. Enter 1 to turn password aging on.
  3. When prompted to enter the number of weeks before passwords expire, enter a value between 1 and 52.
