Using Locations

Last Updated : Aug 15, 2022 |

Locations are used to apply an number of common settings to lines and extensions that are in the same physical location. For example:

  • Apply restrictions to the number of simultaneous calls on internal trunks between different IP Office systems. See Configuring Call Admission Control.

  • Set the outgoing ARS that should be used when an extension associated with the location makes an emergency call. The aim being to ensure that emergency calls use trunks that match their physical location or using a caller ID number registered to the location. See Configuration for Emergency Calls.

For SIP trunks, emergency calls can include sending the address information configured for the dialing extension's location.

  • Apply location specific time offset settings to the time display on phones in the location.
