New in IP Office Release 12.2

Last Updated : Aug 13, 2025 |

The following changes apply for IP Office R12.2:

9408 telephone support

IP Office systems that support 9500 Series phones now also support the 9408 phone. In terms of features and functions the 9408 phones match the operation of 9508 phones.

Avaya Wireless DECT R5

Support for Avaya Wireless DECT R5 firmware was added in IP Office R12.1 SP1. In IP Office R12.2, the following changes have been made for Avaya Wireless DECT R5:

  • Avaya Wireless DECT R5 firmware

The Avaya Wireless DECT R5 firmware is now included in the IP Office admin suite installation package.

  • Maximum DECT IP base station capacity increased

For Avaya Wireless DECT R5 systems linked to a IP Office, the maximum IP base station capacity has increased from 256 to 1000.

  • Support for the Avaya Wireless DECT IPVM

IP Office now supports the Avaya Wireless DECT IPVM software.

    • The IPVM installs as a VMware virtual server

    • The IPVM can act as the master base station for all other base stations.

    • The IPVM does not include a radio component to directly support calls. DECT handsets must still connect a wireless DECT base station.

Overriding the display of user button call options menus

For IP Office 12.2, you can use the NoUser Source Number DISABLE_USERBLF_DND_MENU to override the display of call options and instead have the button make an immediate call to the targeted user. The feature is supported with 9400, 9500, 9600, and J100 phones. For the call to alert a DND user rather than be redirected as per normal DND operation, you must add the button user's number to the targeted user's DND Exceptions list.

Avaya Cloud Office Persistent gateway support

Avaya Cloud Office (ACO) customers who also have an IP Office, can use the IP Office as a persistent gateway. IP Office acts as a failover PBX for ACO registered J100 Series SIP phones.

IP Office as an ACO persistent gateway is supported on IP Office IP500 V2 system running in Essential Edition, Preferred Edition, or subscription mode.
