LDAP based call routing

Last Updated : Oct 30, 2018 |

LDAP based call routing feature routes the SIP INVITE message from a SIP trunk in an enterprise network with multiple SIP call servers.

This feature works in the following sequence:

  • Queries the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server for user data.

  • Avaya SBC uses that user data to route incoming calls from a SIP trunk within the enterprise network.

  • On receiving SIP INVITE from SIP trunk, Avaya SBC initiates an LDAP query towards LDAP server.

  • On receiving the query response from LDAP server, Avaya SBC selects next hop based on the configured routing profiles.

The communication of Avaya SBC and LDAP server supports:

  • IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

  • Management interface.

  • Ability to communicate with primary and alternate LDAP server. If the primary LDAP server is non-functional, then communication continues with the alternate server.

  • Caching of LDAP queries and responses.

  • LDAP version 3.
