Managing user phone details

About this task

You can manage user phones and change their details. Users with the following roles can change the device-specific settings:
  • Phone System Admin

  • Super Admin

  • Custom roles with access to the phone menus

Phone system settings are unique for each phone.
Important:

Changes to a phone are critical and affect the system functionality. Ensure that you select the correct device before making any changes.

Procedure

  1. From the Admin Portal homepage, click Phone System > Phones & Devices > User Phones.
  2. Click the phone to manage.

    Avaya Cloud Office Service Web displays the settings page for the selected phone.

  3. To replace the phone, click Change Phone and select one of the following:
    • Avaya Cloud Phone Desktop App: To use the desktop phone app.

    • Existing Phone: To select a phone from your unassigned devices.

    • New Phone: To purchase a new desk phone.

    • Bring Your Own Device: To use an existing SIP phone.

  4. To change the name of the phone, in the Name field, make your edits.
  5. To reassign the device to a different user, click Edit User and select a user from the list.
  6. To view the phone number details, next to the phone number, click View and confirm redirection to the Phone Numbers subtab.
  7. To change the phone number, click Edit Number.
  8. To remove the phone number, click Remove Line and then Confirm.

    You can delete the number permanently or keep it in your inventory. The license is added to the available licenses on the Licenses & Inventory page.

  9. To configure network bandwidth settings for your calls, from the Data Usage list, select one of the following:
    • High: Provides better sound quality but can cause interruptions during a call when high bandwidth is not available.

      When you select high bandwidth quality, you can also enable the Use HD Voice if possible check box.

    • Low: Provides lower sound quality but ensures no interruptions during a call.

  10. To edit the emergency address, in the Emergency Response Location section, click Edit Location.
  11. Click Save.
