Reassigning a phone number

About this task

Reassign active phone numbers to other extensions, to the Auto-Receptionist, or set them as dial-in numbers for Avaya Cloud Office Video & Audio Conferencing meetings.

Note:

You cannot directly reassign a phone number set as the primary number of a phone. You must first remove such a number from the phone and move it to your inventory, then assign it from your inventory.

Procedure

  1. From the Admin Portal homepage, navigate to Phone System > Phone Numbers > Numbers in Use.
  2. Next to the phone number or numbers to reassign, select the check box or boxes.

    You can now click the quick access buttons.

  3. Click the Assign to quick access button.
  4. Select one of the following options:
    • Auto-Receptionist

    • Avaya Cloud Office Video & Audio Conferencing

    • Extension

      If you select Extension, you must also select the extension to assign.

  5. Click Assign.

    Avaya Cloud Office Service Web displays the pop-up window with the confirmation message.
