An announcement-only extension on Avaya Cloud Office™ serves to deliver announcements to callers. In addition to its external messaging capabilities, announcement-only extensions are also useful for sharing internal updates, such as company news, upcoming events, or holiday closure announcements.
Avaya Cloud Office™ provides the default greeting in the following format: Announcement. No one is available to take your call. Thank you for calling. Goodbye!. However, you can manage announcement greeting by creating a custom one with one of the following options:
Computer Microphone: To record your message with your computer microphone. You can replay the recording before uploading.
Phone: To record your message with your phone. After typing your phone number, Avaya Cloud Office™ calls you to record your custom message over the phone.
Importing: To upload a .wav or .mp3 file from your computer.
You can associate different number types with announcement-only extensions, allowing external callers to access and listen to the announcements. The number types follow as:
Local Number: A local number is a phone number linked to a certain area or place.
Toll-Free Number: A toll-free number is a phone number that you can call from a landline without any cost to the caller.
Vanity Number: A vanity number is a phone number, either local or toll-free, that uses the letters on a keypad to spell a word or name.
