Deactivating a phone number

About this task

To deactivate a phone number, move it to your number inventory. Deactivated phone numbers stop receiving calls and are kept in the inventory for future use.

Note:

You cannot deactivate a phone number set as the primary number of a phone. To deactivate such numbers, you must remove them from the phones assigned as primary.

Procedure

  1. From the Admin Portal homepage, navigate to Phone System > Phone Numbers > Numbers in Use.
  2. Next to the phone number or numbers to deactivate, select the check box or boxes.

    You can now click the quick access buttons.

  3. Click the Move to Inventory quick access button.
  4. On the confirmation dialog box, click Move.
