Creating a Delegated Line

About this task

A delegated line is a phone extension shared by a group of users. The users can answer and make calls on behalf of the delegated line using the Heads-up display feature.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Admin Portal as an administrator.
  2. Click Phone System > Groups > Shared Lines.
  3. Click the New Shared Line tab.
  4. In the Setup tab, click the Domestic or International tab under the Select a Location tab.
  5. Enter the information required under the Group Details tab.
  6. Click Next.

    The Select Number tab displays the office licenses available in the cost center.

    Note:

    You can add details in the Number Inventory or New Number tab.

  7. In the Select Number tab, select the information from the available options in State/Province and Area Code.
  8. Click Add to Group.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click the Select Owner tab to select an owner.
  11. Select the user extension to assign as the owner of this delegated line.
  12. Activate the switch under the Active tab for the Avaya Cloud Office device.
  13. Click Next.
  14. In the Select Delegates tab, click the Add Delegates tab to add up to nineteen delegates for the line. The selected delegates can receive and make calls on behalf of the owner.
  15. Activate the required devices for each delegate added.
  16. Click Next.
  17. Confirm the details and select the check box to acknowledge the information.
  18. Click Next.
  19. Click Yes to proceed with the reboot of all personal phones and phones associated with the group.

Result

The new delegated line is displayed in the group.
