Number inventory overview

Last Updated : Dec 15, 2023 |

Number inventory is a collection of all the unassigned phone numbers on your company account. When you reserve a new phone number or delete an existing user or extension, Avaya Cloud Office Service Web moves the phone number to your inventory and stores it for future use.

Storing phone numbers in your inventory ensures their ownership and availability until you assign them. For example, you can use a reserved international phone number for seasonal marketing campaigns and reserve it again after the campaign ends.

However, you require licenses on your company account to reserve phone numbers. Moreover, each phone number uses a license appropriate for its number type. You can view the available licenses on your company account while reserving phone numbers.

The types of phone numbers you can have licenses for are as follows:

  • Domestic Local Numbers: Numbers to call within a specific area, such as a city or region.

  • International Local Numbers: Non-native numbers formatted as local or regional numbers within a specific country.

  • Domestic Toll-Free Numbers: Numbers that can be dialed charge-free within that country.

  • International Toll-Free Numbers: Numbers that can be dialed charge-free internationally.

You can also delete reserved phone numbers from your inventory. Deleting reserved phone numbers enables you to release the licenses on your account for other purposes.
