Creating a limited extension

About this task

Create a limited extension for common area phones. Admins can create limited extensions on Standard, Premium, or Ultimate plans.

When creating a limited extension, you can view the recently purchased devices and other devices available for purchase with relevant information, such as their type, price, and availability.

You can assign only desktop phones to a limited extension.

Procedure

  1. On the Admin Portal home page, click Phone System > Groups > Limited Extensions.
  2. At the top-right corner, click New Limited Extension.

    Avaya Cloud Office™ displays the Add Limited Extensions window.

  3. In the Add Limited Extensions window, select the location and click Next.
  4. Select a location and type the quantity.
  5. Select a state, area code, and number option, then click Select a Device.
  6. To select a different device, click Desktop Phones.
  7. To use an existing phone, click Other Phones.

    After selecting the device, Avaya Cloud Office™ displays a window with additional details, including the device description and the link to a download datasheet.

  8. Click the device and click Select.
  9. To create an order, on the Add Limited Extensions tab, click Add.
  10. In the order window, click Next and click Done.
