The numbering convention for media modules uses the same seven-character field as does a traditional system, however the fields represent the gateway number, media module slot (V1 to V9), and port number (00 to 99 are supported, the actual number of ports that can be specified depends on the type of media module).

In this example, 001 represents the gateway number, V2 represents the slot number (possibly V1 through V9), and 05 represents the port number.
