Configuring the Survivable License Grace Period for Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS)

About this task

On the main Communication Manager, an administrator can configure a Survivable License Grace Period for Enterprise Survivable Server (ESS). When the main Communication Manager encounters an error, the ESS becomes active and takes control of the communication devices. The following procedure describes how to configure the Survivable License Grace Period for ESS.

Procedure

  1. Start a SAT session on main Communication Manager.
  2. To add ESS for the first time, do the following:
    1. Type add survivable-processor name.

      The main Communication Manager console displays the SURVIVABLE PROCESSOR screen.

    2. In the type field, do one of the following:
    • For Communication Manager Simplex setup, enter simplex-ess

    • For Communication Manager Duplex setup, enter duplex-ess

  3. For subsequent changes to modify the ESS, type change survivable-processor name
    Note:

    The command change survivable-processor name is not available on ESS or LSP.

  4. In the Survivable License Grace Period (in days) field, enter one of the following options:
    • 30

    • 60

    • 90

    • 180

    The default value is 30 days.

  5. Type save trans all or save trans ess.
