Last Updated : Feb 06, 2024 |

About this task

You can add an IP telephone to extension 4005.

Before you begin

  • Verify that Communication Manager has the following:

    • G4xx Media Gateway or Avaya Aura® Media Server for audio capability.

    • Processor Ethernet for signaling capability (for CSI Servers only).

  • Configure the System-Parameters Customer-Options (Optional Features) page with the following settings:

    • Maximum Concurrently Registered IP Stations field value is greater than 0.

    • IP Stations field is y.

  • Data is available on the Maximum IP Registrations by Product ID page.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Communication Manager CLI.
  2. In the command prompt, type add station 4005.
  3. Press Enter.

Communication Manager displays the Station page.

    Note:

When adding a new 4601 or 4602 IP telephone, use the 4601+ or 4602+ station type. This station type enables the Automatic Callback feature. When modifying an existing 4601 or 4602 IP telephone, Communication Manager displays a message to upgrade to the 4601+ or 4602+ station type to access the Automatic Callback feature.

  4. In the Security Code field, enter the password of the IP telephone user.

Although Communication Manager accepts a null password, the IP telephone does not work unless you assign a password.

  5. Press Enter to save your changes.
