Configuring Server Log Files

Last Updated : Oct 20, 2023 |

About this task

Configuring Server Log files is optional. You can configure the Edge LSP to send logs to a syslog receiver located at the data center in the core or in a subnetwork reachable by the main Communication Manager and is not reachable from the LSP subnetwork. The main Communication Manager will forward the syslogs messages from the LSP.

Use the Server Log Files page to select the logs to send to an external syslog server. You can specify the types of logs to send to remote servers.

Note:

The same Servers must be set on the LSP and the main Communication Manager server. Ensure that the syslog destinations are configured and enabled on main Communication Manager before configuring them on the LSP.

Procedure

  1. On the SMI page, navigate to Administration > Server (Maintenance).
  2. In the left navigation pane, under the Security menu, click the Server Log Files button.
  3. In the Enabled field, select Yes in LSP and the main Communication Manager.
  4. In the Protocol field, select the method to transfer the syslogs.

    The options are the following:

    • UDP

    • TCP

    • TLS

  5. In the Port field, type the port number of the remote syslog server.
  6. Select the Edge check box to indicate that it is an Edge accessible server.

The Edge field is available in LSP and not in the Server Log Files page of the main Communication Manager server.

  7. In Server IP/FQDN, type the FQDN or IP address of the data center syslog server.
  8. Click Submit.
