Configuring Twitter settings

About this task

Use this procedure to configure Twitter settings for the native media types such as gifs, images, and videos. You can configure the file types and file sizes to upload and download to and from Twitter for each media type.

Twitter supports ten file types or extensions for native media options. Additionally, an agent can send files with 45 extensions based on the configurations.

Procedure

  1. Start Omnichannel Administration Utility.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Web Chat/Messaging.
  3. Click Twitter.
  4. In the Default media file transfer settings section, in Outbound file types allowed, click Set Types to configure the file types for outbound transfer of messages.
  5. In the Configure File Transfer Types dialog box, select the required file extensions from the Available Types list to the Selected list using the arrow (>>,>,<,<<) buttons.
    Note:

    The Max outbound file size for the default media files is by default 25600 KB. This file size is not configurable.

  6. In the Natively supported Twitter file transfer extensions section, in Outbound file types allowed, click Set Types to configure the file types for outbound transfer of messages.
  7. In the Configure File Transfer Types dialog box, select the required file extensions from the Available Types list to the Selected list using the arrow (>>,>,<,<<) buttons. For more information on the file types allowed for each media type, see Available file types for Twitter media types.
  8. In the Inbound file types allowed field, click Set Types to configure the file types for inbound messages.
  9. In the Configure File Transfer Types dialog box, select the required file extensions from the Available Types list to the Selected list using the arrow (>>,>,<,<<) buttons.
  10. In the Name Parsing Settings section, in Twitter name parsing type, select the display name combination for the customer as required from the options available.
    Note:

    The description of the selected option is displayed in the text box next to the options.

  11. Click Save.
  12. In the Natively supported Twitter file transfer sizes section, select the required Media Type to set the allowed file sizes.

    The following are the Native Media types and the maximum allowed file size in KB:

    • gif - 15360

    • image - 5120

    • video - 15360

  13. Click Edit.

    The Edit file transfer sizes for <selected > media type dialog box is displayed.

  14. In Max outbound file size, the maximum allowed size is entered by default. You can edit this to decrease the size if required.
  15. In Max inbound file size, the maximum allowed size is entered by default. You can edit this to decrease the size if required.
  16. Click Save.
