Activating the encryption key

About this task

Use this procedure to activate an existing encryption key so that you can use the key to encrypt or decrypt databases.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Omnichannel Database server.
  2. Start the Oceana Data Management utility.
  3. In the Oceana Data Management utility, click Encryption.
  4. In the navigation pane, click Data Encryption.
  5. In the Key location field, click Browse.
  6. Select the directory containing the encryption key.
  7. In the Open dialog box, select the encryption key and click Open.
  8. In the Username field, type the user name of the encryption key.
  9. In the Password field, type the password of the encryption key.
  10. In the Confirm Password field, retype the password.
  11. Click Activate key.

    The Oceana Data Management utility displays the following message:

    Database encryption key successfully enabled.
